At Golden Smile Dental, we always explore every option to save your natural teeth—extraction is always our last resort. However, if severe bone loss is present, a tooth root is cracked, a tooth extraction may be the best option.
What to Expect
Tooth extractions are typically painless under anesthesia. The area is completely numbed, so while you may feel some pressure, there is no pain. Contrary to common belief, dentists don’t “pull” teeth. Instead, the tooth is gently loosened until the ligaments holding it in place release, allowing the tooth to come out easily.
Wisdom teeth removal
Did you know that not all wisdom teeth require removal? In many cases, individuals retain their wisdom teeth throughout their lives without experiencing any complications, and these teeth can even aid in chewing. However, if cavities, infections, or gum inflammation develop around the wisdom teeth, extraction may be recommended. At every consultation, we perform digital X-rays to thoroughly assess their condition before making any treatment decisions.
